TAPPEO WEBINAR: CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE TEACHING.

True educational equity is not about expecting children to leave their identity at the school gate; it is about building environments where their lived experiences become the foundation for learning and belonging.

This belief lies at the very core of the European TAPPEO project (Teacher Academy for Plurilingual Preschools: A Path Towards Equal Opportunities). Through Work Package 3 (Inclusion & Linguistic Diversity), led by Ankara University, the consortium works to empower educators to turn linguistic and cultural diversity into a shared strength rather than a barrier.

To dive deeper into this mission, Ankara University is hosting an open online webinar designed for early childhood teachers, researchers, and student educators on Friday, 16 October 2026, at 16:00 CET. The programme includes:

  • “What is Culturally Responsive Teaching and What is Not!” – Assist. Prof. Dr. Serdar Malkoç (Ankara University) clarifies the essential principles of Culturally Responsive Teaching.
  • “Who am I as a Teacher? Exploring Positionality in Culturally Diverse Classrooms” – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Keleşoğlu (Ankara University) guides educators through a reflective examination of their own identities.
